Given we all attend meetings that seem to have no purpose, achieve no objectives and result in no action, the word ‘effective’ is particularly important when it comes to meetings, as many hours of our working life are spent in them!
It is actually quite an art form to run an effective meeting. There are so many things to consider:
- The right people
- In the right place
- At the right time
- With the right information
- And the right frame of mind
- And above all, the ability to make the right contribution in the right way!
It takes time and practice and actually observing both good and poor practice to become and effective meeting practitioner. However there are some key rules which will help, and which we take you through over the next few pages.
